Sagging and lines that appear on the forehead with aging may cause a tired, old expression on the face. Removal of excess skin and lines is possible with forehead lift surgery. This operation is most commonly performed on patients that are over 40 but in the presence of a tissue deformation it can be performed on earlier ages.
In the presence of sagging on upper eyelids and eyebrows the extend of the surgery can be broadened and treated in the same surgical session.
During the surgery cuts are made behind the hair line, tissues are released subcutaneously. Excess skin is removed and the forehead is positioned by traction. Stitches remain behind the hair line and therefore not visible.
Titches are removed on 5-7 th day following surgery. Swelling and bruising may be visible for 3-7 days.
